A few years ago, Sarah was perusing a library bookstore and came across a thin book with the title 84 Charring Cross Road. She heard a reference once before from a blogger she used to follow so when she found it for 50 cents, she grabbed it in a hurry and read it immediately. In fact she read it everyday for a month. A story about a New York Writer and her love for a quaint independent bookstore in London. Despite Frank, the bookstore owner being married, you want Helene and Frank to be together. Romance aside, this real life friendship between a New Yorker and a British bookstore owner, is a sweet story you will never forget. Written in letter form, you can't help but want to buy yourself stationary and start writing to an overseas bookworm and discuss what you're reading.
Oh, what a dream.
And did you know, this lovely little book was turned into a movie with Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins. We love it so much but what if Nancy Meyers reimagined it with a modern twist. We can only dream!
